Veteran actor Vinod Khanna, who was reportedly suffering from Cancer passes away at the age of 70. He had featured in films like Mere Apne, Insaaf and Amar, Akbar, Anthony.
Born on October 6, 1946 in a Punjabi family to Kamla and Kishanchand Khanna in Peshawar, Vinod studied commerce at Mumbai’s Sydenham College before moving into acting.
In his long Bollywood career, he worked in more than 100 films, and was an active politician, and Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur, Punjab. Vinod is survived by his wife Kavita Khanna, sons Rahul, Akshaye and Sakshi, and daughter Shraddha Khanna. Before marrying Kavita, Vinod Khanna was married to Getanjali but they later got divorced.
He was hospitalized in April first week due to severe dehydration but few days later his son Rahul came out with the statement that he was recovering and will be discharged from the hospital soon.
The actor also received a Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999 for his contribution to the film industry for over three decades.
