The Barkatullah University is all set to launch a course for women to teach them how to be an ideal Bahu and keep the family together. It will be a short term course of three months and will be launched from the next academic year. Vice-Chancellor Prof DC Gupta said the idea was to “make sure girls are aware so that they can adjust to the new environment after marriage”. He believes that the institution has some responsibility towards the society and not just to pay attention to academics. He wants to make sure that women are aware of how they need to adjust to married life.
Calling it a part of Women Empowerment, Gupta said the course will be started in the departments of psychology, sociology and women`s studies as a pilot project. The main aim is that once women do the course, they would be in a better position to understand the dynamics of a family and deal with it.
The first batch of the course will have 30 students. The entire details of the course haven’t yet been decided and it is still being worked out.
We still have to see how the course will unfold and what it will have in store.
