Homosexuality finally sees new hopes as it is no longer a crime
in India. The ban on sex against “the order of nature”
has finally gained acceptance in India. A five judge bench passed
the law and many put out their opinion about the law.
The judge bench has also gone ahead and apologized for the law that
was earlier in practice.

The announcement of the decision early on Thursday drew loud
cheers from a crowd of LBGT Indians and their supporters, gathered
on a lawn outside the supreme court. It is a great first step that
the county has taken towards the acceptance of LBGT community.

The section 377 verdict has brought joy and happiness among the
community. It is a battle that has won and brought new hopes as
well. The decision appears to mark the end of a fraught path to
legalizing homosexuality in modern India. Early cases filed in 1994
and then 2001 bounced back and forth for years between higher
courts reluctant to rule on the issue.
